| Who
are the Girls behind this site? |
|
This
is Spring, professional photographer and race addict. She's the one who
takes all the great photographs on the site and the one who rarely posts
anything in the blog! (But when she does speak, take note, because it's going to be good.)
Spring is a true friend, a
wonderful Mom and a very driven person. She lives on six acres with
her husband and son, and is surrounded by animals including sheep, dogs,
cats and chickens, the last of whom she strives to protect from marauding
owl predators!
Her dream is to some day live on
the beach or on a working ranch in Montana or Wyoming, raising the horses
she loves. In the meantime, when she's not hanging out with Val at the
track, she's shooting weddings and senior portraits and all kinds of fun
stuff like that. She stays very busy, but always makes time for her
friends.

Val
is secret weapon behind the web site and the blog and she hates writing
about herself in third person like this. The photo at right is Val's
first time behind the wheel of a race car, at the ripe old age of
approximately two. This was actually one of her Dad's cars, and he
was just humoring her by letting her wear the stylish goggles. Note
that she's not even buckled in and isn't wearing any of the appropriate
safety gear!
As a work-at-home Mom, Val spends
her days at the kitchen table, toiling over her Dell laptop, fearlessly
seeking to keep up with racing news from all over the world for her job at
RaceFan, Inc. Yes, she actually earns a living on the internet,
however, she did not get this job by answering any of those shifty,
no-good, Nigerian email scams!
Val takes the more amateur-quality photos
on the site and attempts to entertain and inform readers via blogging.
She lives with her husband and two kids in a simple three-bedroom ranch
home on a tiny lot in an average subdivision while sending her kids to
public school, and dreams of some day writing a Christian
novel while living in a log cabin near a lake on a rolling field
surrounded by dense woods. When she comes back to reality, she
realizes that she has two kids to get through college and somehow the book
and log cabin fantasy just doesn't fit into the same budget as those two
college educations!

Frisco
|
These are
two of our "babies," Frisco and Sadie. Frisco is
officially my husband's dog but he is really the love of our whole
family. He is a Field Spaniel/Lab mix and we adopted him from our
local shelter on New Year's Eve 2005. And yes, he is named for the
Frisco trains, specifically, the 1522 Locomotive, which now resides in the
Museum of Transportation.
Sadie is the newest addition to
Spring's household and is a Shepherd/Blue Heeler. She's a sweet
little baby, even though she likes to tinkle on my living room
carpet! Sadie and Frisco get along great and we enjoy watching them
wrestle when Sadie comes to visit. |
